2022 Tails on the Trails exceeds fundraising goal!

This year’s Tails on the Trails was able to get back to an in-person celebration – and CELEBRATE we did!

Our grand total raised was $46,227 including $27,431 in pledges plus funds raised through raffles, sponsorships, vendor fees and onsite events. This far exceeds our goal of $30,000, so we are thrilled.

July 16 was a beautiful sunny day, and we had a wonderful turnout of supporters at Lions Park in St. Albert. The day started with a gorgeous walk along the river valley, after which participants relaxed in the Beer Garden & BBQ, met some adoptable animals, and then did some shopping at our bake sale, SCARS merchandise table and a variety of vendors!

Thank you as well to Arctic Chiller for donating bottled water to our event and 102.3 NOW! Radio for joining our event with their Trucksicle and handing out free popsicles!

*Our 2^nd place fundraiser, Winnie Wong and her team “Team Awesomeness Walk in Memory of Paisley” were the top fundraising Team and Individual earner. Winnie graciously forfeited her prize to the next top earner – but it was a close race!

Our “Ambassador Dog” Pilot raised $1,750 for his team! Handsome Pilot was able to join us on the walk in his awesome stroller wagon. He was very excited to meet all the people and dogs!

A very special “thank you” to CBC’s Tara McCarthy and her dog Savannah! They made sure we had a good stretch and warm-up before leading everyone on the walking trail! @CBCradiotara
